Hand Painted Narrowboat Panels for Dr Martens, Camden
Earlier this month, I teamed up with Seen Studio and Dr Martins to create a not-so-average canal cruise that launched itself into London’s Hawley Wharf, Granary Square and Hackney Wick to celebrate the launch of their Zebzag sandal collection. This one-off takeover turned a narrowboat into a roaming party ship, giving away free lollies at each stop – and some came loaded with prizes attached 👞
The team bought me in to take charge of the paintwork designed to showcase 4 of their hand picked sandals. Taking inspiration rom traditional canalboat flourishes, I blended my hand crafted embellishments with a modern typeface and illustrations that represented the flavours over the course of 3 days.
I’d always wanted to paint a canal boat so even though I didn’t technically onto paint it directly, I think this passes as a job well done 🚤
